There's much to see here. So, take your time, look around, and enjoy my photos.
A much needed vacation to the beach with my amazing best friend's family! When hitting the road to Galveston from Houston I received the news the insurance had deemed my car a total loss from the crunch I received the prior week. But the rental I had was a great motivator for a new car!
The food was fantastic, the conversations flowed, and many laughs may have threatened wet pants for us ladies! Weather was ideal, the beach provided some umbrella comedy and a yoga pose or two.
Sarah had no idea I would be in town this early - she knew I would be in Taos the following weekend but not Labor Day weekend! Surprise!
What a super fun Friday night! KT Tunstall, super talented!
What a full day of music! The opening prayer from the indigenous choir was emotional through the last top acts!
I enjoyed a wonderful week mixed with work and relaxing. Miem's condo has amazing views! Two thumbs up.
Taos is super fun when you get to share the experience with family! What a fun time with my brother and bonus sister.
My vacation ENDED with festival #2! So much fun catching up with family and friends! Featured below are a few big family pics.
01/13
Incredible trip with Tom & Victoria, Rexiene & Larry, Trav & Traci + kiddos, Sarah & Matt + kiddos. Fun adventures and relaxing while laughing and sharing memories. The kiddos created new memories with exciting activities and the adults enjoyed the food and drinks! Don't ask about the VRBO/AirBNB/whatever situation happened, I don't share the less exciting but memorable experiences here, you must have the password for that story!
Maybe I could provide a Link so you could upload your pictures you took, family! Let's see...
Wonderful adjoining rooms, I liked the optional curtain divider for the sink area in the room, it helped me put on "sing shows" for the littles! Also really enjoyed the food at the restaurant. PRO TIP for those who imbibe: when ordering a mixed drink, order a double in a tall because it's only like $3 or $4 more!
A full day at Walt Disney World! We took advantage of the resort early bird open hours. We had a light lunch at Pecos Bills and then Dinner at The Crystal Palace for a very special 1st birthday celebration! Our toddler in the group loved the meet and greet with Tigger, Eeyore, Piglet, and Winnie the Pooh! Not to mention the earlier meet and greet with Mickey Mouse... And all the rides! Way to take advantage of the Disney Genie, Sarah! Bedtime came early for all that night.
A wonderful visit to see the animals at Disney as well as seeing some wonderful sights and sounds in all areas! Pandora was cool, especially our lunch (once we decided the best price range for our lunch)! Amazingly quick wait times for 99% of the rides. Had a specific Abominable roller-coaster not made Aunt Jukie crazy dizzy, more adventures would have been had!
Fun time lounging by the pool watching LIttle M go down the "big dragon slide" about 42 times like a champion! Dinner and shopping at Disney Springs with a bit of a rain shower.. that's a story for another website haha!
Morning spent at EPCOT brought some fun rides, some tasty food and delish adult beverages! Sarah bought a puppet for the kiddos but had the biggest smile playing with it while we walked through EPCOT. Favorite part was the aquarium at Finding Nemo! Super cool. Hopped a bus to see Hollywood Studios for more rides. Beer might have been spilled waiting in line...
Truly amazing trip with my niece and her family. Planned to perfection! I knew my first trip to Disney World needed to include the littles so I would be brave to ride those rides that might have scared me (Dumbo, you almost got me!). We knew we couldn't experience the full adult fun at Epcot but we had a little sampler and saw how fun this would be with the big boys (Sarah's McKenna/Hefner cousins) once they are old enough to drink and pay for part of their trip.
A wonderful annual music festival located in the Kit Carson Park in Taos, NM. An Americana/Country/Folk/Bluegrass blend of bands, singers, songwriters and all-around music lovers gathered under a tent surrounded by the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, foothills to the Rockies. And the name associated with this festival is Michael Hearne, father to my awesome nephew and niece. Sarah is the organizer you will see running around, fixing problems and welcoming family and friends. Travis can be found on stage with his dad on special sets. I must brag about the phenominal backstage food and all the hard-working volunteers (ranging from childhood friends to fans of the festival). Michael's grandkids make this festival the best family reunion spot to meet up, especially since my sister's besties are present to celebrate. And the music, so.much.fun!!
